"Now here is the biggest secret of all! First, you sign up with the rebate sites and familiarize yourself with the stores that are listed with each site. Print out the list of merchants affiliated with each site. Then, entering through the rebate site, go to the merchants that interest you and sign up for their e-mails which advertise sales and special offers.
"In the meantime, you will have printed out your list from Flamingo World which shows coupons and discount codes for various merchants.(The link to Flamingo World is on the Bargains Sites page.) If your store is listed, then when you check out, you will enter the coupon or discount code and get money taken off, free shipping, or whatever."
Now, see how easy that was? Just do a little homework and preparation and you will get sale prices, rebates, and discounts all on the SAME order! Gee, dearie, sometimes they are practically giving you the merchandise for free!"
The best way for saving money is signing up with the various rebate sites. Granny thinks that the two best are Dash and eBates. Each one has listings for various merchants with eBates having the most listings. Your best way to compare while you are shopping is to print out a list of the merchants covered by each site and see which has the best rebate in the cases where more than one lists the same merchant.
Dash gives you the option of downloading a Dashbar which can be used to check store listings, rebate amounts, your account information, etc. at the click of your mouse. However, you may elect not to keep the bar up but leave it in your tray until needed. The only problem with this is that a screen or the Dashbar pops up automatically any time you enter a store from their list. Even after you click that you want "No Dash savings," the items continue to pop up with each new page you open. Granny gets rather irritated by this!
Each site may offer as much as a 25% rebate for an order from a particular store. Each rebate service has its own procedure for qualifying for a rebate through them. Be sure to pay attention to the rules when you sign up! In every case, you must enter the store through the rebate site.
This is possibly the most fantastic tool of all for an online shopper! Granny has saved TONS of money since she installed it. After installation, whenever you enter a store, the When U Shop bar pops up on the left of your screen, showing you at a glance which coupons are available, what rebate sites list this store, whether tax is charged for your state, and so much more! After you get the information that you need, you can just click the X to minimize the bar and have more screen room for the store. It minimizes to a thin strip. If you find you need it back, simply click on the strip that is showing. This site is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The perfect tool for an online shopper!
